WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT: PUNTA GORDA, FL

The City of Punta Gorda (Florida) contracted with W-ZHA to represent them in developer negotiations regarding a multi-use development. This consisted of a 150-slip marina, residential, retail and office uses. W-ZHA successfully negotiated a deal providing the City guaranteed lease payments, which incorporated a realistic phasing plan and the opportunity for the Downtown Development Authority to take over the project in case of developer default during the residential, and office uses, generating significant spin-off in the downtown central business district. The initial phases of the project are complete.
