In planning the construction of its initial light rail transit corridor, the Minneapolis Community Development Agency (MCDA) hopes to derive public benefits that include, in addition to transit ridership, possible redevelopment of the urban neighborhoods along the corridor. Seeking to maximize its benefits, MCDA retained a multi-disciplinary team led by ZHA to provide an understanding of the potential for transit-oriented development, and the steps required to realize such development.
