MIAMI'S BICENTENNIAL PARK RE-POSITIONING

W-ZHA was retained by the City of Miami to develop conceptual programming approaches for the revitalization and potential re-use of a 29-acre public park located on Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami. Working with Dover Kohl Associates, W-ZHA developed three alternative re-use scenarios for the site and provided plans for the alternatives with cost and operating implications. The three scenarios for this waterfront site were 1) retaining and revitalizing the site as a park, 2) converting a portion of the park to a museum campus and 3) privatizing a portion of the property for residential and commercial uses. As part of this work effort, W-ZHA identified potential funding sources.
