HOTEL
ROANOKE
ZHA represented
the Virginia Tech Real Estate Foundation in selecting a developer who
would renovate and operate the 415-room Hotel Roanoke, in Roanoke, Virginia,
which was gifted to the University by the Norfolk Southern Corporation
in 1989. On behalf of the Foundation, ZHA issued a developer solicitation,
which resulted in the selection in early 1992 of Faison as the designated
developer. ZHA, working with both the Foundation and the City of Roanoke,
was responsible for negotiating a developer agreement that addressed the
renovation and operation of the hotel and the construction of a municipal
conference center on an adjacent property.
