HOTEL
ROANOKE
W-ZHA represented
the Virginia Tech Real Estate Foundation in selecting a developer who
would renovate and operate the 415-room Hotel Roanoke, in Roanoke, Virginia,
which was gifted to the University by the Norfolk Southern Corporation
in 1989. On behalf of the Foundation, W-ZHA issued a developer solicitation,
which resulted in the selection in early 1992 of Faison as the designated
developer. W-ZHA, working with both the Foundation and the City of Roanoke,
was responsible for negotiating a developer agreement that addressed the
renovation and operation of the hotel and the construction of a municipal
conference center on an adjacent property.
