Evaluated market potential and issued a developer solicitation for a $40.3 million hotel/conference center project.  Finalized capital investment through the creation of a limited liability corporation employing funding from the community, city and Virginia Tech University.

Completed urban renewal planning, market and financial feasibility analyses, development programming, financial packaging and developer solicitation and negotiation for the Historic Brown Hotel.  The end project consisted of 296 hotel rooms, two floors of executive condos, a ground floor of 16,000 square feet of retail and 50,000 square feet of separate office space.

Managed negotiations for a 350 room Hyatt Regency Hotel, a 80,000 square feet office building for IBM, and a public convention center.  Secured $7.4 million of public investment through UDAG and EDA grants.
