COLLEGE PARK ROUTE 1 COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR
DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

    College Park is the home of the University of Maryland. Route 1 is a commercial corridor providing access to the Town and the University. Route 1 is characterized by fragmented and unattractive strip development. A Plan was developed to improve Route 1 from a physical standpoint. ZHA's role was to identify an economic development strategy and implementation package to support the economic development of both the Town and the University. A key element of the strategy was to define the target markets for various sub-areas of the Corridor.
